Thirteen Years in the Making for Twelve of Scottdale Prep’s Graduates
Scottsdale Prep May 21, 2024 -
The class of 2024 commencement ceremony for Scottdale Prep’s graduating class marks a special milestone in the academy’s history. While 67 graduates will be walking across the stage this week to receive their high school diplomas, twelve of them were part of the very first kindergarten class during Archway Scottsdale’s inaugural year, making them the first graduates to have gone through all thirteen years, from kinder to twelfth grade at the Great Hearts campus in Scottsdale.

“It has been such an incredible experience to grow alongside and see the best version of my classmates develop over all of these years together,” said Reese Mankins, a senior at Scottsdale Prep.
Audrey Hill said, “Being here since Kindergarten has helped me strive to do better and pursue excellence.”
These scholars are graduating with a complete and full Great Hearts experience throughout their thirteen-year educational career. The possibilities seem endless for these scholars who will begin their higher education with an advantage, according to Dan Scoggin, Co-Founder of Great Hearts. “They are the most classically educated children in the entire country and we can’t wait to see what they achieve, and we know their stories will be beautiful with what they achieve with that great philosophically grounded education.”
Makins, Holmes, and Costlow will be attending Arizona State University (ASU). Howell and Super will be attending Barrett, the Honors College at ASU. Carpenter, Puhala, and Hobbs will be attending Grand Canyon University (GCU), while Detzer will be attending the Honors College at GCU. Stanek will attend The University of Arizona.
Going out of state, Hull will be attending St. John’s College in New Mexico, and Hill will be attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Please join us in congratulating these great-hearted seniors as they graduate and continue to pursue Truth, Goodness, and Beauty beyond their high school careers.
