Celebrating a Decade of Giving

Great Hearts Academies December 5, 2022 -

The Greater Good Fund recently celebrated 10 years of giving. The milestone was recognized with a celebratory luncheon at the Great Hearts Maryvale campus with donors from all over the Great Hearts network.

Greater Good LuncheonThe Great Hearts Greater Good Fund is a shared effort of the Great Hearts community to support the teachers and students at our Title I schools. The fund is committed to offering all students the best education possible – the education they deserve, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Gifts to the Greater Good fund make this a reality for our students at the Great Hearts academies located in low-income neighborhoods. It allows teachers to focus on closing the achievement gap by enabling us to maintain small class sizes, helping pay salaries to our qualified teachers who specialize in urban education, help to provide school supplies, uniforms, special education, and ESL (English as a Second Language) materials.

Greater Good Fund LuncheonGreat Hearts Arizona Superintendent Brandon Crowe welcomed honored guests and faculty seated at tables on the stage of the Marley Center surrounded by a display of student artwork. Everyone in attendance was treated to a poetry recitation from Archway Maryvale scholars, instrumental performances from Maryvale Prep musicians, and impactful presentations from the High School Ambassadors.

Greater Good Fund HS AmbassadorSuccesses at Maryvale Prep were shared by the Maryvale Headmasters Rachel Mercado and Dr. Crystal Cruz, followed by updates and new developments from Great Hearts National Chief Development Officer, Genevieve Peterson.  As Great Hearts reaches into new regions in Arizona and Texas, as well as expanding to Louisiana and beyond, the Greater Good fund will be even more crucial to offering the same classical education to underserved communities across the footprint, no matter the location.
